Christine joined Newgate with more than 15 years experience in media and communications, policy and infrastructure development. Previous experience includes service as a media advisor to senior NSW Ministers and the Premier of NSW, senior financial analyst with NSW Treasury and public finance analyst with international ratings agency Moodys Investors Service in New York. She has also worked as a journalist and an internal communications specialist for an Australian national television network.

Christine has extensive experience working on major Government projects as part of multi-disciplinary teams, providing strategic communications counsel and managing implementation. She understands the political and procedural environment for major private sector investment in NSW and the complexities of dealing with stakeholder groups, including Government, community, interest groups, media and industry.

Christine has specialised in recent years in a series of in-house roles in NSW agencies where she has become a trusted adviser on strategy and implementation for high-profile government projects. Christine has worked as the communications advisor on transaction teams for a number of significant Government transactions. These include the recent sale of Eraring Energy and Delta Electricity’s western power stations, the long-term lease of Port Botany and Port Kembla and NSW Lotteries. Her role includes issues management, internal communications and media strategy.

Current clients include the Sydney Metro Program Office, where she initially led a team tasked with the development of an overarching communications strategy and its implementation – a program which included the roll out of a proactive community, stakeholder and media engagement activities. Christine’s specialist skills include strategic communications, community and stakeholder engagement and issues management.

Christine holds a Bachelor of Arts (Communications) from Charles Sturt University and a Masters in Public Administration majoring in public finance from Columbia University in New York.
